Nobody likes an invoice surprise, so here is how pricing works before you commit to anything.
What will the job cost before any work begins?
A fixed written price, agreed with you first. The inspection and quote cost nothing, and the figure on paper is the figure on the invoice, with no additions once the work is underway.
Do nights, weekends or public holidays cost more?
No. One pricing structure applies whatever the clock or calendar says, so there are no overtime rates or after-hours surcharges hiding in the fine print.

Who turns up, and what you are promised
How soon can someone get here?
We work this patch daily, so the van is often already on a nearby street. Ring and a licensed plumber will tell you honestly when they can realistically be at your door.
What licences and insurance do the plumbers carry?
Every plumber on the team works under licence #275278C with full insurance behind each job. Compliance certificates come with the invoice, without you needing to chase them.
Is the workmanship guaranteed?

Urgent situations
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water pouring where it should not, a gas smell indoors, sewage backing up or a cylinder that has failed completely. Our emergency plumbing hub lists the common ones and what to do first.
Is there anything I should do while waiting?
For a burst flexi hose or pipe, close the mains at the water meter. For a gas smell, leave the isolation valve alone and get everyone outside. For an overflowing pan, stop flushing.

Every suburb has its own plumbing personality, and this one is shaped by a century of housing stacked down a sandstone slope.
Why do the drains in older houses block again and again?
Pre-1940 homes here often still run their original earthenware clay lines, and mature street trees push fine roots into the ageing joints. See the drainage hub, or the page on pipe relining, which renews the pipe from inside. The slope matters too. Runoff concentrates as the ground drops toward Long Bay, so older stormwater lines on the lower streets cop the full load in summer storms, and autumn leaves settle in gullies after the trees on the ridge let go.
Can you work on units and apartments?
Yes. Between the Federation homes on the ridge and the mid-century walk-ups through the flat streets, unit work is half our week, including the strata coordination that shared lines sometimes requires.
Should I repair or replace my hot water system?
Age, cylinder condition and repair cost all matter, and the honest answer depends on what the inspection finds. The hot water hub sets out the signals, with pages for repairs and replacements.

We do.
